Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, who is on an official visit to the Indonesian capital city of Jakarta, on Tuesday met with Vice President Jusuf Kalla.

The Indonesian vice president underscored the need to make Armenian-Indonesian bilateral relations grow deeper.

At the ensuing talk, the interlocutors stressed the need for intensifying political discourse, carrying out cooperation between various departments, and promoting trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Indonesia.

Nalbandian and Kalla also exchanged views on several regional and international matters.

On the same day, the Armenian FM also visited the Indonesian parliament, where he met with Deputy Speaker Agus Hermanto of the People’s Representative Council of Indonesia, and members of its foreign relations committee.

They conferred on the avenues for the development of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

At the request of the Indonesian lawmakers, FM Nalbandian presented the foreign policy priorities of Armenia, and reflected on the joint efforts by Armenia and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group co-chair countries (Russia, US, and France) to push forward the peace process to resolve the Karabakh-Azerbaijan conflict.  

In this connection, the FM of Armenia and the deputy speaker of the People’s Representative Council of Indonesia shared the view on the need for resolving conflicts solely through peace.
