Five opposition politicians released from custody in Venezuela following the results of the first stage of negotiations between the government and the opposition to find the way out of political crisis in the country, TASS reported quoting EFE.

As the observers noted, their release was the authorities' response to the call of the opposition to “make a gesture of goodwill” in the ongoing dialogue.

On October 30, Venezuela held the first round of negotiations between the authorities and the opposition parties agreed to hold a dialogue. The political crisis’s aggravation in Venezuela was connected with the decision of National electoral council to indefinitely postpone the second stage of preparation for a referendum on the early termination of powers of the president Nicolás Maduro which should have passed from October 26 to October 28.
