The first section of the bypass passage round Yerevan will be ready in the beginning of 2017.

Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, Kamo Areyan, said the aforementioned Tuesday, speaking at the parliamentary hearings on the draft 2017 State Budget. 

In his words, the construction is carried out by the funds of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). In the beginning of 2017 the first stage of the program will be implemented, this including a 5 km road running from Arshakunyats Avenue to Noragavit district and Artashat highway.   

During the second stage, the road will be continued from Shirak street to the section on Etchmiadzin highway, where Argavand and Southwetsern districts of the capital are located. The road will further be laid to Silikyan neighborhood all the way to Ashatark highway. Another road leading to the capital’s Davtashen district will be built from there.

The overall value of the ADB loan program is $112 mln. Nearly 7.8 bln AMD (approx. $16.4 mln) will be acquired from it in 2017.
