YEREVAN. – The new employment programs in Armenia have increased the effectiveness of job placement in the country from 6 percent to 75 percent.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Artem Asatryan, said the aforementioned at Wednesday’s National Assembly hearings on the draft state budget for 2017.

In the minister’s words, in 2015, around 15 thousand people in Armenia found jobs through the respective programs by his ministry.

“In our country, the effectiveness of job placement with unemployment benefits was only 6 percent, whereas now—75 percent,” noted Asatryan. “And the effectiveness [of job placement] with vocational education programs is higher: 87.2 percent.”
