“Political will on part of OSCE participating states is a key to success of the organization, including its efforts to resolve protracted conflicts,” said the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office’s Special Representative for Protracted Conflicts, Ambassador Bolat Nurgaliyev, APA reports.
The opportunity offered by the OSCE Summit, 1-2 December in Astana, is to be used wisely, Nurgaliyev said at a session of the OSCE Review Conference on politico-military security.
“Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in OSCE recognized that mediators, “however persuasive their arguments may sound, can achieve only a fraction if conflicting parties lack political for lasting, comprehensive settlement,” Nurgaliyev.
