Figen Yüksekdağ, co-chair of the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) of Turkey and MP, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison on charges of “making propaganda for a terrorist organization.”
Her attorney noted that the Court of Cassation upheld the lower court’s respective ruling, reported Cumhuriyet daily of Turkey.
The attorney stressed that once the Court of Cassation decision goes to the court, the prosecutor’s office will send a writ with respect to waiving the immunity of this MP.
