YEREVAN. – If the 2017 State Budget draft of Armenia is approved, payments are envisioned for organizations which will be engaged in protection of human rights.

Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, said the aforementioned at Thursday’s National Assembly respective committees’ hearings on the draft state budget for next year.

He noted that expanded integration into the activities of international organizations will be a primary objective of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.

“I believe the ombudsman shall become, if not the one that dictates, then at least a direct participant in, the events related to Armenia,” added Tatoyan.
