YEREVAN. – In recent years, production in Armenia is more than imports.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Artak Davtyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Friday.

“In recent times, the government is undertaking major steps in the social dimension; for example, the reduction in the price of [natural] gas,” noted the RPA deputy. “However, the most major qualitative change in recent years is living by our means. We [i.e. Armenia] produce more than we import.”

Opposition Free Democrats Party Board member Armen Arakelyan, on the other hand, said the gas prices in Armenia are being reduced solely due to the personal interests of recently-appointed Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan.

“It’s unfortunate that our authorities could not do this earlier,” added Arakelyan.
