YEREVAN. Next year, the Government of Armenia will continue preparing for the 2019 World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT), which the country is planned to host.

This is stated in Armenia’s 2017 State Budget draft, whose committee discussions continue Monday in the National Assembly.

Accordingly, 95 million drams (about $200,000) will be allocated from the budget, as guaranteed payment.

In addition, 150 million drams (about $317,000), which is almost as much as in 2016, will be allotted next year to assist the technological centers in Gyumri and Vanadzor towns.

Furthermore, 98.7 million drams (about $208,000), or as much as the current year, will be given to implement some other IT projects, including the Armenia-based IT companies’ representation in exhibitions abroad.
