YEREVAN. - Yerevan Thermal Power Plant (TPP) will no longer pay for the debts of Nairit chemical plant.  

Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia, Iosif Isayan, told the aforementioned in the parliament on Monday, speaking at the debate on 2017 State Budget.

Since 2016 Yerevan TPP has been making no payments related to power generation, that is it makes no expenses except for those related to the plant operation and purchase of gas, the Minister said.

Earlier, the Government cleared Nairit plant’s wage arrears from the income of state power plants – Vorotan Cascade HPP and Yerevan TPP. Since 1 July the last 460 workers of Nairit plant were dismissed.
