Russia is ready to normalize relations with the United States, but it requires a huge work, said the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, reports the RIA Novosti.

"As for the improvement of bilateral relations and the foreign policy in general, as you understand, it will certainly some time, before it starts.  Currently, the formation of the new US president's team is underway. We certainly heard the statements made before the elections. Many of them are encouraging. But we should understand, to improve US-Russia bilateral relations, to find a way out of the deadlock, a huge work should be done by people who are professionally engaged in this issue,” said Zakharova.

We are absolutely ready... our position is that we are absolutely ready for cooperation, collaboration, creation of normal relationships and, most importantly, we understand that it is a crime to observe how this locomotive goes downhill, " she added, noting that “people are becoming hostages of these ambitions.”
