YEREVAN. – Shadow economy is the simplest reserve for the budget of Armenia, management expert Harutyun Mesropyan stated at a press conference on Saturday, when asked about the 2017 State Budget of the country.

As per Mesropyan, shadow economy makes up about 50 percent in Armenia, a battle needs to be fought against it, and the respective measures need to be tough—and even cruel.

“A strong political will needs to be demonstrated, and shown that nothing is above the law in Armenia,” added the management expert. “No oligarch will be allowed to circumvent the law, no matter how close he is with the authorities.”
