YEREVAN. - President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Monday awarded Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan.

During the solemn session dedicated to the 20th anniversary of introducing the local self-governance system in Armenia, the Armenian president bestowed state awards upon a number of representatives of the self-government bodies for their productive and conscientious work.  Specifically, Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan was awarded with 1st degree Medal for Services to Homeland Medal.

Apart from this, leader of Nor Yerznka community of Kotayk province, Alina Harutyunyan, leader of Khachik community of Vayots Dzor province, Vardan Nersisyan, and leader of Paravakar community of Armenia's Tavush province, Roland Margaryan, were awarded with Medal of Gratitude.
