The UN hopes for close cooperation with the U.S.  President-elect Donald Trump’s administration in various areas, including on refugees and climate change, the UN Deputy Secretary-General Jan Eliasson told Sputnik.

“Well we just hope that we will have a close and good cooperation with the new leadership in the U.S.. That goes for many areas, from migration of refugees to climate change”, Eliasson said.

The U.S. presidential election was held on November 8. Unexpectedly for many, the winner was Donald Trump.
