YEREVAN. – Minister of Economic Development and Investment of Armenia, Suren Karayan, on Thursday met with Iranian Ambassador Seyed Kazzem Sajjadi.

They discussed the prospects for Armenian-Iranian economic cooperation, the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Up to December 30 consumer loans without collateral up to AMD 2,000,000 will be granted only with annual interest rate of 19-20%

Karayan noted that Iran is an important economic partner for Armenia, and concrete steps need to be taken to further intensify economic cooperation between the two countries. Also, the minister proposed to take steps toward the development of interregional (Armenia, Georgia, Iran) tourism.

Sajjadi, in turn, presented to the minister those domains and opportunities that will help deepen Armenia-Iran economic cooperation. In the ambassador’s words, Armenia is an important commercial hub that can link Iran to the other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union—which comprises Armenia Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The Iranian diplomat, for his part, proposed to boost interprovincial cooperation between Armenia and Iran.
