YEREVAN. - I am happy but also a little concerned about the opening of same-type educational centers.

Director of Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, Marie Lou Papazian, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am during the business innovation forum  on Saturday.

Opening of similar centers will change nothing; It is necessary to fill up all the gaps in the educational chain and not duplicate the same thing, Papazian said.

According to her, education should start from pre-school age and the atmosphere should be systematically changed. Israel’s practice with long-term vision is a wonderful example of implementing state programs, the director said.

In her words, here the Government decided as early as 20 years ago that the country should develop technologically.  These changes are systematic and extend to all institutions but one shouldn’t think in one direction, Papazian stressed.

She also noted that Armenia attaches very little attention to the university education: Out of 23,000 graduates only 10,000 get university education annually, question arising on where those 13,000 go. Papazian thinks something is wrong here, changes being needed in all elements. 

The director is sure that exactly educated persons should become the main support of Armenia. She sees their goal in helping young people reveal their potential and form vision for the future.
