YEREVAN. – Minister of Health, Levon Altunyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the exposing of negative phenomena in Armenia’s healthcare sector is not his function.

“Potential developments are expected in the healthcare sector,” said the minister. “I’m a doctor. Gaps were found and filled.”

To the remark that the Armenian authorities are now speaking a lot about the need for bringing the government system in good order and finding and punishing the officials that are behind the vicious phenomena, and whether the healthcare sector of Armenia also will be on this list, Altunyan responded: “Punishing people is not our job.”
