The activity of fighters in the Middle East will come to naught over the years.

Political analyst Karine Gevorgyan said the aforementioned, commenting upon the request of Armenian News – NEWS.am on the situation in the region, when the fighters are moving from one region to another, causing escalation of violence.

“I don’t think that the servicemen and the civilian population affected by the fighters will think that eliminating them would be inhumane. It’s another thing that it would be hard to do that in cities, since that will immediately result in various victims among the civilian population,” the analyst noted.

According to her, in the upcoming four years the activity of the fighters will reduce, being accompanied by periodic flares. “History has such examples. For instance, the once popular profession of pirates has ceased existing, with the exception of the current Somalia pirates,” Gevorgyan recalled.

She also noted that a significant part of the fighters is gradually moving from the territory of the Middle East to Africa.
