YEREVAN. - In spring 2017, we expect more Iranian tourists to visit Armenia.

Head of the Tourism Department at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, Mekhak Apresyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In his words, over 9 months in 2016, the number of Iranian tourists visiting Armenia was by 30 percent more than during the same months in 2015.   Moreover, the number of tourists from Iran was large not only in March—during Nowruz—but also in April-May and in summer.  

According to Apresyan, most of the Iranians organize their vacation on their own, which means that the tour operators of both countries can think of cooperation here.  

These topics will be discussed during a trip of a group of Armenian tour operators to Iran in January 2017, he added.
