Super Mario Run may become the most successful launch in the history of the App Store. Already in its first day on the App Store Super Mario Run registered 2.85 million downloads, reports Life.

For comparison, Pokemon GO, that set records, was downloaded a total of 900 thousand times in the first day. In the third day, that figure reached 5.6 million. However, it is noteworthy to mention, that in its first day Super Mario Run has been available in 150 countries.

Pokemon GO now has a record number of downloads at the App Store. Though, Apple has not disclosed this number. Both games are free of charge, but Super Mario Run requires a payment after the third level to allow entry to the other worlds.

Super Mario Run is currently available for iPhones, iPads, and iPods.
