The Astrakhan meeting of the Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani was aimed to ease tensed atmosphere created by frequent violations of ceasefire regime by the Azerbaijani side and statements voiced by the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, Giro Manoyan, Head of the Hay Dat (Armenian Cause) office, told the journalists today. According to the ARFD member Dmitry Medvedev managed to ease tension, nothing more can be expected.

Manoyan considers that opening of Heydar Aliyev’s monument in Russia was a gesture made by Moscow to return offended Azerbaijani leader to Russia. One should not consider it as Russia’s serious position, he noted.
