Ankara intends to continue working together with Moscow, including on settlement of the situation in Syria, Turkish  Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated at  the start of his talks with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.

He said Russia and Turkey have shown all through the world what they can achieve through joint efforts, and noted that they plan to continue joint work on settlement of the situation in Syria as well as in overcoming the crisis in their bilateral relations.

In turn, Kremlin was sure that the murder of Russian envoy to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, was beneficial to those that wanted to prevent the development of Russia-Turkey relations, including the Syrian settlement.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the architects of this murder wanted to drive a wedge between Turkey and Russia, and prevent the normalization of their relations in all domains, including settlement of the situation in Syria.
