Research shows that the number of mobile phone Internet users has recently increased in Armenia. According to the Armenian Statistical Service, there were 150,000 mobile phone Internet users as of H1 2010 while today their number exceeds 160,000. As a result more mobile variants of websites are created as well.

Talking to the NEWS.am-Innovation correspondent, Vardges Hoveyan, PR and marketing manager at Mobile Messaging Solutions, stated that more companies are presently interested in creating mobile versions of websites. For instance, mobile version of governmental website (m-government) will be launched. It has been already improved by the government and is undergoing tests.

A new program for mobile version of airport website will be developed as well. “It will provide an opportunity to get information on timetable and other services,” Hoveyan noted, adding that it will be soon presented to airport’s management.

According to him, other mobile projects, including m-school (mobile school) and m-uni (mobile university) are being developed as well.
