The current situation in Lebanon cannot be called explosive. Public life in the country is following a normal course, the chief editor of the Lebanon-based Azdak newspaper Shahan Kandaharyan told NEWS.am.
According to him, delivery of UN verdict on former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri’s assassination tensed the domestic political situation, as Hezbollah urged a boycott of a UN-backed probe, spurring Washington to accuse the militant Shiite group of “intimidation”.
“However, the political tension is unlikely to develop into civil clashes or armed conflicts. Today there are no prerequisites for it,” Kanadaharyan said, stressing there is no threat to Armenian community’s security.
