Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov considers that the OSCE summit in Astana may become a turning point in the Karabakh peace process.

Mammadyarov also noted he intends to meet with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian in the near future, Cihan news agency reported.

In the course of trilateral meeting in Astrakhan, Armenian and Azerbaijani FMs were instructed to continue the peace process and such a meeting may take place in the near future, he noted. “During this meeting the Ministers will discuss preparation of the sides to the Astana summit,” Mammadyarov stressed.

According to the Azerbaijani FM, a “road map” on resolution of the conflict is prepared to restore peace and stability in the Caucasus. 

The OSCE summit is scheduled for December 1-2 in Astana.
