A businessman is a person supporting Armenia, Vardan Aivazyan, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, RA Parliament, member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told journalists on Nov. 4. In western countries the most successful businessmen sit beside national heroes because they pay the largest taxes.

“An interesting figure: only 3,000 economic entities ensure 80% of Armenia’s budget revenues, while a total of 130,000 economic entities are officially registered in the country,” Aivazyan said. Therefore, the 3,000 must be supported.

Any economic entity is ready to pay to the budget, but not more than a specific amount. “First, this is their home country with its budget. Secondly, they will get the money back in the form of asphalted roads, street lightning and so on. Thirdly, if an economic entity thrusts money into strange pockets instead of paying to the budget, some individuals become cheeky,” Aivazyan said.
