In the course of his visit to Hatay (Cilicia) province of Turkey, President Abdullah Gul spoke of YouTube website that has been blocked in Turkey for 2.5 years.

According to him, Turkey should not be included in the list of countries where such bans are imposed, Radikal reported. President Gul stated that his position on YouTube has not changed.

On his Twitter blog Abdullah Gul repeatedly expressed concern over blocking YouTube and other websites in Turkey.

The Ankara court made a judgment under which YouTube will be banned in Turkey unless a scandalous video showing Deniz Baykal, former leader of Turkish opposition, in a bedroom with his lover is removed.

At the moment no response has been received from YouTube, although the mentioned vide was removed.
