On November 3, Armenian Ambassador to Iraq Murad Muradyan handed his credentials to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Armenian Foreign Office press service informed NEWS.am.

After the ceremony, the officials had a private conversation. Zebari congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment to the new post and welcomed Armenian Government’s decision to open an embassy in Iraq. Iraqi Minister stressed Iraq will take steps to establish an Embassy in Armenia as well.

At the meeting the officials discussed bilateral relations and attached significance to forming contractual underpinnings. The sides emphasized it will create opportunities for effective cooperation and improvement of bilateral relations in trade and economical, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Zebari expressed hope Armenian Ambassador will contribute to the development of Armenian-Iraqi friendly relations.  He underscored Iraqi Foreign Ministry will assist the Ambassador in his diplomatic mission.
