YEREVAN. - Currently the day of the parliamentary elections in Armenia is set on April 2.

Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Tigran Mukuchyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

To the question as to whether the possible extension of the parliamentary election day will not call into question the legitimacy of the electoral process, Mukuchyan noted: “In case of such problems or issues we always have one task: when a certain circumstance arises, we express our legal position depending on the circumstance. Currently, the day of the parliamentary elections in Armenia is set on April 2.The schedule is approved and the functions are carried out in the prescribed manner.”

At the session of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Board, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan stated that he is not against extending the elections by 4-5 days but he recommended waiting until all the election participants become known in order to agree with them on this issue.
