President Donald Trump on Friday signed an order to ban Syrian refugees’ entry to the United States, reported the Associated Press.

Trump ordered a four-month suspension to America’s broader refugee program. The suspension is intended to provide time to review how refugees are vetted before they are allowed to resettle in the United States, so as to keep “radical Islamic terrorists” out of the country.

Trump's order also cuts the number of refugees the United States plans to accept this budget year by more than half, to 50,000 people from around the world; and the priority will be given to religious minorities.

The order also states that an interview for obtaining a US visa will be a mandatory condition.

Trump has also ordered to accelerate the introduction of the biometric procedure for screening persons entering the country.
