YEREVAN. – Last year Armenia and Iran signed a memorandum on the liberalization of visa regime, the annual report of the Armenian Foreign Ministry says.

In general, Armenia continued its efforts to strengthen relations with Iran.  President of Iran Hassan Rouhani visited Armenia in December.  During the visit, several agreements were signed. The presidents of the two countries took part in Armenia - Iran business forum.

On June 5-6, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian paid an official visit to Tehran. During the visit, a memorandum was signed on the liberalization of the visa regime between the two countries.

In October Tehran for the first time hosted “Armenia Expo 2016” exhibition which was attended by about 100 Armenian companies.

A regular meeting of the Armenian-Iranian intergovernmental commission was held on December 4-5.
