"The terms of new agreement with Gazprom are much worse than they were in the past,” said Georgian President’s spokesperson Eka Mishveladze, reports GHN.

According to Mishveladze, the Georgian president considered, that it was possible to avoid losses proceeding from the contract, but for some reason such attempts "failed." Mishveladze said, that this issue should be addressed in the parliament. "The President urged the government to participate in that process and perform its duties under the Constitution."

As a result of negotiations, Georgia signed a long-term agreement on transit of the Russian gas through the territory of Georgia. The gas transit will be made in exchange for gas supplies in 2017. Under the new agreement, Georgia will be able to gain additional gas supplies with 14 percent discount: $ 185 per cubic meter of gas.
