U.S. Senate confirmed Steven Mnuchin as treasury secretary on Monday evening. All 52 Republicans voted for Mnuchin, joined by only one Democrat, CNN reported.

Mnuchin became the tenth member of U.S. President Donald Trump’s team who was approved by the Senate. Earlier, they also confirmed Ministers of Defence, Homeland Security, Transport, Education, Health, as well as Secretary of State, UN permanent representative, Attorney General and Director of the CIA.

Even before taking office Trump noted wide experience of work of Mnuchin in one of the largest American corporations Goldman Sachs, as well as the financial director of his election campaign in 2016.
