YEREVAN. - Chief of Armenian police, Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan on Wednesday held a working consultation with the participation of the heads of Armavir province department and subordinated subdivisions. Governor of Armavir province, Ashot Ghahramanyan, also took part in the consultation.

At the meeting, Gasparyan referred to the results of the operative activity carried out last year, the peculiarities of the province and existing shortfalls in the work, stressing that the best prevention of crimes is their unconditional solution.

Touching on election bribes, Gasparyan noted: “The election bribe is a phenomenon which is difficult to prove but I don’t think it is impossible to stop it. If the community police officer is aware of his citizens, I am sure that there will be people who will make statements. We can fulfill our functions but the most important thing is to prevent such phenomena,” he said.

The Chief of Armenian Police also instructed to be fully aware of the requirements of the Police Action Guide during the elections and make use of them during the service.

Summing up the consultation, Gasparyan reiterated the peculiarities of the work with voters, observers, proxies and journalists and required to observe the letter and spirit of the law in any case.
