Minutes ago young ANC activists were released from the Police Department of Kentron District, lawyer Givi Hovhannisyan informed NEWS.am.

He noted that they were not interrogated, but did not rule out possibility that the protestors may be again summoned to police department in the near future.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, on November 9, at 10:15 a.m. young protestors of the Armenian National Congress clashed with policemen in Charles Aznavour Square (near Moscow Cinema). A deputy of Kentron police chief of staff Arayik Petrosyan insulted the young activists and prevented them from processing along the Republic Square.

The policemen cordoned off the area with yellow tapes and placed barriers for the protestors not to march. The young men opposed, considering their action illegal.

Lawyer Givi Hovhannisyan met with the arrested at police department, then the activists were taken to a forensic examiner, who recorded their injuries.

Interestingly, despite the forensic doctor recorded injuries, a representative of Armenian Police press service Armen Malkhasyan categorically denied ANC activists had been beaten up in the Kentron police department.
