The European Commission outlines 5 scenarios for future development of the EU, reports Politico, referring to the EC unpublished document.
The scenarios of the White Book are entitled “carrying on,” “nothing but the single market,” “those who want more do more,” “doing less more efficiently,” and “doing much more together.”
The White Book, the content of which is not available for the public yet, was drawn up for the jubilee summit of the European Union that will take place on 25 March in Rome, during which the parties will discuss the future of the EU. The meeting will mark the beginning of a "new chapter", wrote Jean-Claude Juncker, the EC president, who leads the initiative.
However, the main critics of the White Book have a concern that the developed five path will lead to a transfer of more leverage power to the Brussels. At the same time, Juncker made it clear, that he does not expect his plan to receive an immediate support. This process can take up to a year.
