YEREVAN. - It is necessary to oversee the quality of oil products, Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan said in the parliament on Wednesday, responding to the question of Yelk (Way Out) alliance member Nikol Pashinyan.

The latter stressed the fact that when assuming the office of PM, Karen Karapetyan stated that any economic operator can engage in import in Armenia and that there must be no artificial obstacles for anyone. Nevertheless, Aragg LLC has not been able to perform customs clearance of about 460 tons of kerosene for about a month.

To this Karapetyan noted that Armoil CJSC importing oil products from Iran and EAEU has also expressed concern by delays during import. In his words, this has to do with the need to oversee the quality of oil products in Armenia (since there is a danger of counterfeit) and the control against their re-export from Armenia to other EAEU states for avoiding taxes, he noted.  

''It is necessary to oversee the quality issues very strictly. I think you remember that in a number of cases during the April war our military equipment didn't work exactly for this reason. The quality control should be strict. It's a different matter that there shouldn't be such delays at the customs,'' the PM said.
