Moscow and Washington have common interests, said the Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov in a briefing on March 1. At the same time, Peskov did not answer to the question whether Russia can become a friend of the United States, reports TASS.

According to him, the cooperation between the two countries is first of all possible in the fight against terrorism. He reminded, that the Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed it over the phone with Donald Trump.

The fact, that Trump did not mention Russia in the speech he delivered in Congress, was not surprising for Peskov. He recalled, that Trump is the President of the US and is engaged in solving " American issues," whereas Putin, "Russian issues," which is "quite normal."
