U.S. Vice President Mike Pence met Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman on Tuesday, the sides discussed Syria and Iran, RIA Novosti reported quoting the White House.

The officials discussed the crisis in Syria and other regional issues.

Pence and Liberman agreed that it was necessary to confront the threat of Iran and its assistants, as well as terrorist organizations.

Pence also supported Israel's qualitative military advantage over its neighbors. Israel is the largest recipient of U.S. military assistance in the region.

Earlier Liberman discussed problems of the Middle East region at the meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis.
