At least four people who were on board the police helicopter, were killed on Monday following the crash near the Mexican city of Mexicali, Baja California, RIA Novosti reported.

According to the police, the helicopter hit a wire with a screw, as a result of which the pilot lost control, the copter fell to the ground and exploded.

The helicopter had been conducting a rescue mission to find a missing hiker.
