On November 11, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II attended the opening ceremony of a monument to Catholicos Vazgen I.

The monument is erected by sculpture Fridrich Soghoyan on the initiative of Nikolay Ryzhkov, Co-Chairman of Armenian-Russian Inter-parliamentary Committee on Cooperation, Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin press service reported.

Delegates of the Armenian-Russian Inter-parliamentary Committee, clergymen, Governor of Armavir region Ashot Ghahramanyan, Etchmiadzin Mayor Karen Grigoryan and other officials, as well as Etchmiadzin citizens were present.
