Nervous and panicky, political forces are getting ready for national elections, as they are well aware of a political force, the Armenian National Congress (ANC), enjoying popularity, Levon Zurabyan, ANC Central Office Coordinator, told journalists Nov. 12.

As regards some MPs’ claims that their parties are expecting to get 99.9% of votes in the forthcoming elections, Zurabyan said: “If it go on like this, the authorities may get even 101% of votes. If 120% of voters vote at one polling station, everything is possible.”

As to whether the ANC will take part in the elections if early elections fail, Zurabyan refused to discuss such a pessimistic scenario. “We will go on struggling and use any means of establishing democracy in the country,” he said. Armenia’s first president will be the ANC nominee. “One this is sure – Levon Ter-Petrosyan will remain indisputable ANC leader, and he will be the ANC nominee at the presidential elections,” Zurabyan.
