A photo exhibition entitled “Even Closer Union” kicked off in the building of Artists' Union of Armenia on Friday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of signing the Treaties of Rome.

The event was organized by the EU Delegating to Armenia and the Italian Embassy to Armenia.

Speaking at the festive event, head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Piotr Świtalski, noted that the Treaties of Rome are a vivid example of how a modest sheet of paper can change the entire course of history. According to him, these treaties established the principles of peace, solidarity, prosperity, equality and tolerance for the entire European path.

60 years ago—on 25 March 1957—a foundation was laid for Europe by signing the Treaties of Rome: a common market was created, which ensures the free movement of people, goods, services and capital, Świtalski added.

The exhibition will run from March 25 to 27.
