American companies will be happy to be involved in the construction of a new nuclear power unit in Armenia, Daniel Rosemblum, Coordinator for U.S. Assistance to Europe and Eurasia and Co-Chairman of U.S.-Armenia Joint Economic Task Force (USATF), told a press conference on Monday.

According to him, U.S. and Armenia have cooperated for many years to improve safety of operating NPP in Armenia and are ready for further cooperation.

As reported previously, according to the agreement between Armenian Government and Rosatom (the Russian state nuclear energy corporation), Atomstroyexport JSC will construct a new nuclear reactor of a new Armenian NPP.  However, tender has been invited for supply of equipment.
