Georgian government does not plan to sell gas pipeline connecting Russia with Armenia. Many regional states are interested in buying the strategic pipeline, said Niko Mchedlishvili, spokesperson for the Georgian Government.

“However, it does not mean that pipeline will be sold,” she said, Vzglyad reported.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, Pavel Kublashvili, the Chairman of the Committee for Legal Affairs, Georgian Parliament, proposed a sale of the gas main.

Speaking in Parliament on July 2, Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri stated the possibility of putting 10-15 per cent of the gas main shares up for sale at the London Stock Exchange.

Media reports also say Azerbaijan intends to purchase the shares.
