Three Armenian boxers made a poor showing in the round of 1/16 at the World Boxing Championship in Milan. Hrachik Javakhyan (60 kg) lost to Éverton Lopes (Brasilia), Eduard Hambardzumyan (64 kg) was defeated by Onur Sipalu (Turkey), Derenik Gijlaryan (51 kg) — Michael Aloyan (Russia).

Five out of nine Armenian boxers left the championship.

September 5, Armenian boxer Hovhannes Danielyan (48 kg) will get in the ring.
