According to the newspaper, Armenian NPP faces serious financial problems. Price for electricity produced by NPP does not cover expenses. To put it differently, electricity produced by NPP is bought below cost which is conditioned by increase in prices for nuclear fuel. The NPP leadership has been trying to come to an agreement with the authorities regarding increase in tariffs, but they urge the NPP to get loans with high interest rate from one of the Armenian banks and cover losses. On November 16, the newspaper failed to get information refuting or confirming these reports from the NPP leadership.
