Armenian businessmen of Russia promised to allocate $8 m to the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund. At the annual gala night of the All-Armenian Hayastan Fund held in Moscow, the owner of Tashir Group Samvel Karapetyan said he would grant $2 m, whereas Ara Abrahamyan, Chairman of the Union of Armenians of Russia, pledged $1.6 m assistance.

This amount may be increased during forthcoming November 25 telethon when our compatriots residing in Russia will be able to make contributions. A total of $5 m was collected in Russia during last year’s event.

“Water Is Life” Telethon 2010 will be held on November 25. Proceeds from the telethon will benefit the development of modern drinking and irrigation water systems in Nagorno-Karabakh’s 200 villages.
