In 2011 the Union of Armenians of Russia (UAR) will follow a new line and expand its activities, organization’s president Ara Abrahamyan said addressing participants of the UAR fourth congress dedicated to union’s 10th anniversary, ITAR TASS reported.

According to him, the union has many new projects and business plans to be realized in 2011. These projects are more modernized and directed to closer development of friendly relations between Russia and Armenia, as well as prevention of social, national and religious conflicts.

He stressed that active work with youth is union’s priority. “We are trying to explain to students and schoolchildren that we have common goals that should be achieved with joint efforts,” he said.

Abrahamyan noted that the union is actively participating in social life of Russia, communicating with all national organizations.
