The UN has expressed deep concern about growth of tension on the Korean peninsula and has urged all parties to double the diplomatic efforts directed to settlement of the situation.
UN spokesman for the Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric noted at a New York briefing that he urged North Korea to take all necessary efforts to de-escalate the situation, return to the dialogue on nuclear disarmament and comply with the requirements of the UN Security Council resolutions.
